How to Be Funny, Regularly

I have a backlog of posts right now, so I may post as many as three blogs per week for awhile. I had to be sure I had something funny enough to keep a funny blog going, so I wrote several and made a list of possibilities. A person's gotta have some juices going to get into a funny mood; have you ever noticed that? That list of possibilities keeps me from having nightmares.

Once my backlog is gone, I really have to get to work again, and sometimes it is really hard to be funny. It's hard whenever I go out to the mailbox, because all I ever get these days are bills and requests for money. I got into a lot of charitable giving a few years ago because there are so many great organizations out there doing such great things. Then I found out that, once you're on their list, they just keep on asking, and asking, and asking. That's okay. They probably need it. But somewhere there has to be a "no more" point, or I'll end up on one of their lists one of these days.

What bothers me most is that these charities sell their lists to other similar charities. You'd think they would get smart: "This is your competition, people!" When you add the lists of the new to the lists of the old, they really fill your mailbox, but I'm not so sure that that is a good thing. Bigger is not always better.

Moving on--It's also hard to be funny at the grocery store, when you look at all the food you used to eat when you were smoking and had a really nice figure. I'm healthier now because I no longer smoke, but fatter. I don't know--Is that a good trade-off?

It's hard to be funny when you first get up in the morning and look in the mirror. Correction: It's really funny until you realize, "This is me!"

Humor comes in a roll for me. I don't know what starts it, but once I get going the funny bone keeps tumbling over and over until it hits bottom. Whoops! I'm there for today, so "See ya next time!" And, as always, thanks for stopping by!

Your friend in Christ and in all things good and fun,
Margaret
