The Thief in My Computer

There's a strange little critter living inside my computer. I never see him. I don't hear him, either. That's what makes him so exasperating. He lies around for days, or sometimes a week or two, and then, right in the middle--or worse, at the end of a long post, he zaps the screen. Poof! Gone! He steals my work and never brings it back. He's a thief, but I can never catch him. It's the height of frustration and injustice.

I tried looking for him once. I tinkered around with the dials on my monitor, but all I found there were lots of crazy bars and numbers. I scoured Internet Explorer, and all that turned up were lots of ads for all the great apps MSN has available for my use. I looked in Firefox, only to watch Goggle and Yahoo fight each other for search engine space.

I checked with the people on my e-mail address list and everybody there said he'd stopped by their sites, too, at one time or another but they didn't know where to find him. My Facebook friends told him to get lost; they didn't need friends like that. So, my dear blog followers, I'm asking you: "Have you seen him? Has he been by? Whoops
