I'm Back!
Hi, reader friends! Did you have a good summer? Mine has been full of travel trips, gardening ventures, and some good and nurturing family gatherings. Maybe too full (see below).
After my break of twenty days I find myself wanting to try a change that is risky, but may well improve my writing. Are you willing to go along with me on this? I would like to write as the Spirit moves rather than follow a certain deadline. Meaning my new posts can appear anytime, or "not on time." Readers generally want to know exactly when a blog is going to reappear. That is the risk. And I can't blame them. In today's busy world, nobody wants to waste their time looking for
something entertaining and inspiring only to find that nothing new has
appeared. But I found before my break that I didn't like some of the material I was putting out. I hadn't had the time to have my advance-reader edit some of these posts. She has a good sense of what will go over well and what will not. So I would like to try this for awhile, to see if I--and especially if you, my readers--enjoy what I am doing a bit more. Please let me know your response to this.
I'm considering one other change. One of my major interests in writing has long been political commentary. I must be good at it, because I won a second place award my senior year of high school in a statewide essay contest put on by the Michigan Bar Association (I grew up in Grand Rapids, Michigan) on issues of the day. This, too, is risky, though I am an independent voter, preferring to vote for the person over the party and leaning in issues towards what I feel America needs most at the time. The danger here is that people tend to become very emotional on partisan issues and may well disagree with my comments and argue back or stop following my blog. I can handle that. I welcome differences in thinking. The question is, what do you--my dear regular readers, think about this? Would you welcome posts on political issues, also?
Margaret
